'Rose Isle' is a family-owned grazing property located 70 km down stream of Bourke on the Darling River Run with beautiful river views and peaceful camp sites. We have powered and un-powered lawn sites and river sites for caravans, camp trailers, boats and tents. Accommodation is also available with shearer quarters, cabins and self-contained cottages.

'Rose Isle' is a great central spot for day trips to hike and visit Mt Gundabooka National Park, Toorale National Park, and nearby historic towns Louth, Tilpa, Cobar and Bourke.

The historic ‘Rose Isle’ house was built in 1897 by the Faulkhaguan family. There has only ever been 2 owners of the property the Faulkhaguan family and the Mooring family.

Garry and Samantha Mooring have lived at 'Rose Isle' with their family for the past 38 years and Garry’s family before that. ‘Rose Isle’ is a working sheep and cattle property, running Dohne Merino sheep and Poll Hereford Cattle. As a working property there are often seasonal activities such as shearing that you may like to see and be a part of. Samantha also runs a catering business (Mitchell Catering) with her mother and sisters.

A highlight in tourist season is our beautiful homemade morning tea.
Served at 10:30 - 11am (Mon, Wed and Fri) overlooking the beautiful Darling River.
